Twice as many winners this year!
It’s a Halloween event just for dog-lovers! The Tower District is hosting the fifth annual Whitie’s Pets Pooch Parade, Canine Carnival & Costume Contest on the Saturday before Halloween. This doggie to-do will take place behind the Tower Theatre on the corner of Wishon and Olive avenues in the Tower District on Saturday, October 29 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
The Whitie’s Pets Pooch Parade, Canine Carnival & Costume Contest will feature over a dozen product and food vendors, the Beer & Bone Garden, family entertainment, and some of the most incredible human and dog costumes you’ve ever seen. From 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. enjoy the K-9 Carnival featuring one-of-a-kind dog products and services, free samples of dog food and treats, dog adoptions from the CCSPCA, microchipping for your pooch and live entertainment by Tony Blanco. At 3:00, contestants and furry friends will strut their stuff in the Pooch Parade along the sidewalks of Olive Avenue, ending back at the festival site for final judging of the Canine Costume Contest.
Prize categories include:
1) Best Dog Costume
2) Best Dog/Owner Costume Combo
3) Best Dog Float (cart, wagon, non-motorized device)
4) Cutest Dog
This year, the number of contest winners has been doubled! 6 winners in each category will be awarded fantastic prize packages including dog food, dog treats, services, gift certificates from event vendors and Tower District Businesses and more. Nearly $2,000 in prizes will be awarded!
The contest entry fee is only $10 with discounted entry fees for multiple dogs per family. Entry forms are available at www.towerdistrict.org. Contestants can also register the day of the event.
The Whitie’s Pets Pooch Parade, Canine Carnival & Costume Contest is sponsored by Whitie’s Pets, Fresno Pet ER, Nutro, Natura Pet, Canidae, Avoderm, Natural Balance, Nature’s Variety, and Bud Light.
