Caribbean Music Celebration!

Sunday August 10, 2008

TICKET INFORMATION               Vendor Information

2008 line-up:

If you know reggae music, you know Clinton 'Basie' Fearon. Clinton Fearon is counted among Jamaica's most talented musicians by peers and professionals in the Reggae music industry. His infectious bass riffs, guitar licks, percussion accents and powerful vocals make Bassie a living legend amongst reggae musicians and fans.

As a youth, Bassie went to Kingston to eventually become the well-known bassist, vocalist and lyricist for The Gladiators as well as a house musician for Coxsonne Dodd’s Studio One and Lee “Scratch” Perry’s Black Ark Studio. Fearon recorded many of Perry's best known songs, including Roast Fish and Cornbread which features one of Fearon's most famous bass lines. He also composed some everlasting basslines for Yabby You, Jimmy Riley, Max Romeo, Junior Byles and many many others.
Marquis Melody and Majesty Band

An upcoming quality vocalist destined for success, Marquis a.k.a. Marquis Melody and  his Majesty band are actively performing his debut album project titled “Straight From the Heart” at West Coast USA venues.  The album features a variety of reggae music culture styles including Lovers Rock, Roots, Culture and Dancehall recorded almost entirely at Tuff Gong studio in Jamaica.  Crowd favorites include roots & culture single release "Sunshine" and lover's tune "I Need To Know."  As of Summer 2008 Marquis is back in Kingston, Jamaica working to complete a new Single release project that features two entirely new riddims created by Marquis Melody and Majesty band the first of which is to be released in USA during August 2008.  Titled "Miserable" the first Riddim also features full length tracks from famed artists Turbulence and Lutan Fyah.  Be on the lookout for some great uplifting music by Marquis Melody and Majesty!

The Suppressors

In July of 2005, the band started out as little more than an idealistic dream in a rather ska-indifferent environment. Through hard work, perseverance, and copious mob payouts, The Suppressors are perched comfortably on top of a steamy mound of local support, hardened street cred, and vanquished competition. Hailed as the 'new kings of Fresno ska' (Soulsandsounds.com), Suppressors continue to entertain and awe. Having played over 75 shows since in the last 3 years, The Suppressors have definitely earned the title of hardest working ska band in the Central Valley. And with the recent release of a 2 song .45 vinyl record on a choice private label, you can bet your ovaries that there will be plenty more Suppressors ska in the horizon.

Since the inception, Suppressors have been blessed to share the stage with many, many monsters of ska including The Skatalites, Chris Murray Combo, The Aggrolites, Los Hooligans, Lets Go Bowling, The Impalers, Justi-Fi and Monkey..... just to name a few. The band is comprised of well-seasoned musicians, able to hold down a stage in any venue (and more than willing to hold down some malt liquor if tested).

Its time you know whos the boss... GO SUPPRESSORS!
